Calculate your unweighted and weighted grade point averages using your course averages and credits.

Letter grades are first converted to a 4.0 scale based on the following table.
| Letter | 4.0 Grade |
|---|---|
| A+ | 4.0 |
| A | 4.0 |
| A- | 3.7 |
| B+ | 3.3 |
| B | 3.0 |
| B- | 2.7 |
| C+ | 2.3 |
| C | 2.0 |
| C- | 1.7 |
| D+ | 1.3 |
| D | 1.0 |
| F | 0.0 |
Each grade is then multiplied by the course's credits and weight to determine its effective score. Then, the total of the effective grades is divided by the total course credits to find the average of each credit, or the GPA.
Many schools across the US offer weighted courses. These courses are typically more difficult than normal ones, but have a weighted grade that can go past 100 or 4.0, which provide a larger increase to GPA. The most common types of weighted courses are Honors or Advanced Placement(AP), but these can vary across schools.
